【 Five yuan 】
The United States customs has a batch of confiscated bicycles, after the announcement decided to auction, auction, every time the bidding, there is always a boy in his early teens with a "five" to start the bid, and then watched others for 30 or 40 dollars to buy the bikes.
During a break in the sale, the auctioneer asked the boy why he had not bid more. The boy said he only had five dollars.
The auction began again, the boy or each time to "five" starting price, of course, the last or others race. Slowly, the assembled audience began to notice the boy who always bid first, and more and more people became interested in the result of the boy's bidding.
By the end of the auction, all that was left was the best bike, shiny as new, with multiple gears, a 10-segment bar transmission, two-way handbrakes, speed monitors and a set of electric night lights. This is certainly a rare good car!
"Any bids?" asked the auctioneer.
At the front, the little boy who had almost given up hope stood up and said firmly, "Five." The auction room was silent. All the people held their breath and stood still waiting for the result.
All eyes were on the little boy. No one spoke, no hand was raised, no price was called. After the auctioneer had bid three times, he exclaimed, "This bike for the young man in shorts and white sneakers!"
With this, the audience applauded. With the biggest smile anyone had ever seen, the little boy cheered and held up his crumpled five-dollar bill for what was, without a doubt, the most beautiful bicycle in the world.
In our lives, in addition to "outdoing others," "overpowering others," "surpassing others," can we "accomplish others"?
