The wind chimes sway in the wind. This is the window on the third floor. Outside the window, the poplar tree shoots up like an arrow into the blue sky. The leaves are lush, and in May mornings, the bird chirps are as thin as air conditioning, crisp.
These happy moments, the small hands that hold the leaves flick me and make me feel lazy like a few globeflower petals.
Any instrument is superfluous. Tree leaves, wind, and bird calls are masters, and nature's sounds are everywhere. I don't want to open my eyes. I like the small leaves' edges with jagged shapes that can cut into my heart and bleed. Past events do not heal but rather repeatedly cut. May days pass day by day.
Time flies like a book, and a book that cannot be read can be bound. Thick calendars pile up. I don’t want to ask, from February to May, where the colors of February's orchids went, and the hollyhocks grow strong in a blink of an eye. Each petiole has a bunch of beautiful flowers. Every past event has colors, and the green shade grows dense and ensures the earth's mottled marks will continue.
