豐衣足食，老少團(tuán)圓的春節(jié)即將來臨，本應(yīng)講些高興事，但我悠然而生回憶起一件晚輩們聽起來簡直是天方夜譚的奇事。且聽：寒冬臘月雪花飛時(shí)夜半哭啼淚凄悲。母親獨(dú)守寒門苦，盼父打工拿錢回。
為養(yǎng)家糊口，父外出打工，母挺著大肚料理家務(wù)，省吃儉用度日?？爝^小年的一天下半夜，母親肚痛厲害，便知可能要生孩子了，便將事先準(zhǔn)備好的棉布，剪刀放在一墻之隔的火坑旁，本想請(qǐng)接生婆，但為了節(jié)約開支，打算自己動(dòng)手為自己接生，誰知小生命馬上搶著出來了，母親忍著痛不敢大聲嘁，順手扯下床頭稻草扎的枕頭放地上，雙手扶著床沿，說時(shí)遲那時(shí)快，養(yǎng)水破了，潑水了，就向下用勁，接著一股沖擊力，小布點(diǎn)順著水掉到地面，母親松了口氣后，便拿剪刀和布在火上烤了烤，然后將臍帶剪斷，用棉布扎好傷口……
天一亮，鄰居大媽似呼聽到動(dòng)靜，便叫來幾個(gè)鄉(xiāng)親入室。呀！滿地的血呀，水呀，還有那個(gè)包衣，大家七手八腳忙起來。有的燒水搞衛(wèi)生;有的煮糖水蛋……母親躺床微笑向她們致謝。
舊社會(huì)的鄉(xiāng)下，哪有什么通訊工具?。≈慌挝腋缚旎貋?。第三天，我父帶著辛苦錢回來了。他在外做兩份工，一是幫做苦力，二是從爺那學(xué)到一些草藥治痛。他一進(jìn)家門，就萬分感激鄉(xiāng)親們，趕快去殺雞呀，買瘦肉和豬腳呀。在父親的照理和陪伴下，母親的奶水充足，母女恢復(fù)得快。大家七嘴八舌夸我母親堅(jiān)強(qiáng)、能干，自己接生又自己帶娃，且母子安全。
那時(shí)候，有些自接生的小孩幾天就夭折了，數(shù)著小生命活的天數(shù)分別為“三早風(fēng)”或者“五早風(fēng)”……而我母女安然無恙，主要是我母親用火消毒，用氣用力恰到好處，令人佩服，我出生時(shí)個(gè)子小，別人叫我“仔仔締”，是小布點(diǎn)之意，自然就成了我的乳名，直到我長大了，還有人這樣叫我呢。
啊，偉大的父母親，尊敬的鄉(xiāng)里鄉(xiāng)親，我的小生命融著您們的善心。我現(xiàn)己85歲了，對(duì)過去的事記憶猶新。
可愛的晚輩們，你們聽后肯定不可思議吧！可這是當(dāng)時(shí)農(nóng)村的真實(shí)寫照。人的命運(yùn)是隨時(shí)代的脈搏跳動(dòng)的，與你們現(xiàn)代生孩子相比，真是一個(gè)天上，一個(gè)地獄。
啊，好好得珍惜當(dāng)下吧，努力學(xué)習(xí)和工作，尊老愛幼吧！祖國繁榮富強(qiáng)，當(dāng)今人們生活樂小康。

注：
此紀(jì)實(shí)散文來原于我九歲時(shí)母親的講述，至今記憶猶新。母親在解放前夕因高齡難產(chǎn)而奪命，父親在1960年，因終身操勞過度又挨餓，病得身腳浮腫無法醫(yī)治，死時(shí)皮包骨頭。我年輕盡管努力也無法扛起家庭重?fù)?dān)而悲哀。

The Spring Festival, when we have plenty of food and clothing, and reunions of young and old, is approaching. I should have talked about some happy things, but I casually recalled a strange thing that to the younger generation sounds like a fantasy. Listen: I cried sadly in the middle of the night when the snowflakes were flying in the twelfth lunar month of winter. My mother lived in a poor family and hoped that my father would work and get money back.
In order to support the family, my father went out to work, and my mother took care of the housework and lived frugally. In the middle of the night one day before the Lunar New Year, my mother had a severe stomachache. She knew that she might have a baby, so she placed the cotton cloth and scissors prepared in advance next to the fire pit next to the wall. She originally wanted to hire a midwife, but in order to save money, she planned to take it upon herself to deliver the baby, but the little one rushed out immediately. My mother endured the pain and did not dare to cry loudly. She took off the pillow made of straw from the bedside and put it on the ground. She held the edge of the bed with both hands and suddenly the water broke, the water was splashed, so she pushed down hard, and then there was an impact, and the small cloth fell to the ground along the water. After my mother breathed a sigh of relief, she took the scissors and cloth and roasted them on the fire, then cut the umbilical cord and tied the wound with cotton cloth...
At dawn, the neighbor seemed to hear some noise, so she called several fellow villagers into the house. Ah! There was blood, water, and the wrapping all over the floor, and everyone was busy. Some boiled water for hygiene; some boiled eggs with sugar water... Mother lay in bed and thanked them with a smile.
In the countryside of the old society, there were no communication tools! Mother just hope my father will come back soon. On the third day, my father came back with hard-earned money. He worked two jobs outside, one was to help with labor, and the other was to learn some herbal medicine from his grandfather to treat pain. As soon as he entered the house, he was extremely grateful to the villagers and hurried to kill chickens and buy lean meat and pig's feet. Under father's care and company, mother's milk supply was sufficient and mother and daughter recovered quickly. Everyone praised my mother for being strong and capable, delivering the baby and raising the baby by herself, and that both mother and baby were safe.
At that time, some children who were self-delivered died within a few days, and the number of days they lived was counted as "three morning winds" or "five morning winds"... But my mother and the baby daughter were safe and sound, mainly because my mother used fire to disinfect . The force used was just right, which was admirable. I was small when I was born, so people called me "Zai Zai Di", which means little cloth point(tiny baby). It naturally became my nickname. Until I grew up, people still called me that.
Ah, great parents, respected fellow countrymen, my little life is filled with your kindness. I am now 85 years old and I still have vivid memories of the past.
Dear juniors, you must be inconceivable after hearing this! But this was a true portrayal of the countryside at that time. Human destiny beats with the pulse of the times. Compared with your modern childbirth, it is really a heaven and a hell.
