回顧逝去的往昔 我又一次不由感到詫異，
一回想起 我的那些青春花季，
我便記起 有人曾送給我們的一疊舊衣，
也會(huì)記起 媽媽曾如何化破舊為神奇。
那些舊衣五顏六色分外花哨 每一件也都非常瘦小，
而我當(dāng)時(shí)正缺少一件外套 恰巧彼時(shí)深秋即刻來(lái)到。
媽媽遂將舊衣縫制在一起 何其巧妙，
縫合起每一件 都帶著她愛(ài)的味道。
她為我打造好 一件五彩斑斕的外套，
為此我感到 如此之自豪。
她邊給我講她讀過(guò)的一則圣經(jīng)故事 邊縫制著外套，
她講到 約瑟夫也曾穿過(guò)一件多彩外套 然后她說(shuō)道：
或許這件外套 也會(huì)讓好運(yùn)與幸福常常將你環(huán)繞。
我已是迫不及待地想穿上那外套，
媽媽又以一個(gè)吻為其向上天禱告。
我的五彩斑斕的外套 純系媽媽為我所打造，
雖說(shuō)只以舊衣為原料 但我穿上它何其自豪。
盡管我們?yōu)榻疱X(qián)所困擾 但我足以堪稱精神富豪，
只因我的五彩斑斕的外套 純系媽媽為我所打造。
于是雖然褲子上遍布補(bǔ)丁 兩只鞋子上也千瘡百孔，
穿上我五彩斑斕的外套 我還是匆匆起身趕往學(xué)校。
結(jié)果卻只遭到 其他人對(duì)我的一片冷嘲與輪番取笑，
他們嘲笑 我穿著媽媽為我打造的五彩斑斕的外套。
而我對(duì)此感到莫名其妙 因我感到我堪稱精神富豪。
我對(duì)他們說(shuō)到 媽媽在每個(gè)針腳 都縫進(jìn)了愛(ài)的味道;
也跟他們講到媽媽給我縫制之時(shí) 所講的整個(gè)故事，
以及我五彩斑斕的外套緣何其實(shí)
比他們所有人的衣物更富有價(jià)值。
但他們對(duì)其感到莫名其妙 而我竭力想讓他們知道：
只有當(dāng)一個(gè)人選擇甘于貧窮 他才會(huì)是真正的貧窮。
如今我知道 我們雖曾為金錢(qián)所困擾，
但我當(dāng)時(shí)仍足以堪稱精神富豪——
只因我的五彩斑斕的外套 純系媽媽為我所打造——
純系只為我量身而打造。
